What You’ll Do

As the Senior Tax Accountant, you’ll operate as both a subject matter expert and a trusted advisor. You won’t just prepare returns—you’ll shape tax strategy, lead client conversations, and elevate the quality of service our client is known for. Key responsibilities include:

Own the tax experience for a portfolio of small business clients—from onboarding through planning, filing, and year-end review
Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and alignment with each client’s broader financial goals
Lead proactive tax planning, including quarterly projections, retirement strategies, and deduction optimization
File quarterly estimated tax payments and provide timely communication to clients around upcoming deadlines and obligations
Identify risks and opportunities in client financials and escalate complex issues for strategic resolution
Analyze and reconcile financial records in preparation for tax filing, collaborating with internal team members as needed
Serve as the lead communicator with clients—explaining nuanced tax decisions in a clear, approachable way
Document and manage all deadlines, extensions, and filing requirements across your book of business
Contribute to internal process improvements, bringing forward-thinking ideas to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and client experience
Uphold audit-readiness and quality standards, maintaining organized digital files and ensuring documentation meets internal protocols

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
EA certification (preferred or in progress)
At least 4 years of experience in small business tax prep and advisory
Strong communication skills and confidence in client-facing work
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and tax software (Drake preferred)
Experience with remote tools like Google Drive, Slack, and ClickUp
A proactive, organized, and detail-oriented work style
