This role involves preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations while providing exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws
Successfully complete and pass the Haven Point Tax Training Course prior to preparing client returns
Communicate with clients to gather tax documentation and answer questions clearly and professionally
Identify eligible credits and deductions to maximize client refunds or reduce liabilities
Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information
Use TaxSlayer software (or similar) for tax preparation and e-filing
Engage in basic marketing and outreach activities to grow your client list (flyers, word-of-mouth, social media, etc.)
Attend weekly team check-ins and contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment
Stay current on tax law updates and software changes through continuous learning

Skills

No prior tax experience required—training is provided
Must obtain or already have a valid PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
Must successfully complete and pass the HavenPoint Tax Training Course
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to self-market and engage in outreach to build a client base
Familiarity with TaxSlayer or similar tax preparation software is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients effectively
Basic computer literacy and comfort with client-facing technology (email, scanning, e-signatures)
