Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is actively seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant to join a thriving team in Pleasanton. This onsite position offers an opportunity to manage and facilitate the preparation and review of federal tax returns while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities

Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of all company federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
Manage tax planning and compliance across all business entities, ensuring accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings, including multi-location city business licensing.
Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations departments to ensure alignment and coordination on all tax-related matters.
Manage and facilitate IRS and/or State income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Monitor all tax operations to ensure their timely completion and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments to key management. Create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
Develop and implement internal audits.

Qualifications

5+ years in a tax or accounting role with 2+ years of management experience.
Preferred candidates have a current CPA license and a master's degree in an accounting discipline.
Extensive corporate/partnership tax knowledge.
Proficient with the following software/tools: Word, Outlook, Excel.
Proven accounting, analytical, and research skills.
Ability to work well independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate the benefits of tax initiatives to stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of corporate tax codes, compliance, and procedures.
Expertise with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
Demonstrated experience with a variety of tax operations and the ability to drive process improvements.
Ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to travel to Corporate Headquarters as required.

Required Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.

This position requires 5-10 years of Big 4 experience and is based onsite in Pleasanton.
