Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, filing payroll and sales tax reports, scanning in source documents, preparation of simple tax returns, and some administrative duties. This position requires strong financial detail and proficiency in various accounting software, making it essential for the candidate to be well-versed in computer usage, client communications, and possess the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Input payroll hours from various forms of client record keeping
Calculate and file payroll taxes, quarterly tax reports, and W-2s
Calculate taxable income for sales tax returns and file timely
Prepare year end 1099s
Perform double entry bookkeeping to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
Organize client tax work papers and scan for tax preparation
Assist in the preparation of simple tax returns
Utilize financial software, including QuickBooks and Accounting CS for efficient data management.
Collaborate with other individuals to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

Skills

Strong understanding of finance principles and practices.
Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping and general accounting practices.
Experience with payroll and related tax reporting
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Adobe, Excel, or similar financial software applications.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
