Overview
I am seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join my company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dealing with small to mid sized local companies and also have experience in multiple accounting functions. This role is crucial completing all types of tax returns, including corporations, non profits, partnerships, trusts, farms and individual personal tax returns, using QuickBooks, payroll software and most importantly Intuit Professional Series Income Tax software. This person will work closely with various clients, providing financial advise and assisting them in their operations. This position is entrepreneurial in that the candidate with take over the business as the owner will be retiring in a short term.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns - all types including corporate, personal, sales tax, road tax, partnerships, non profits and trust.
- Conduct interview with clients to determine their specific accounting needs.
- Manage very busy tax season schedules and provide timely completion of reporting tasks as required by client's needs.
- Interpret client's needs and provide insights to resolve issues
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits that arise per client's needs.
- Stay updated on the latest income tax laws and requirements..
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Multiple years experience in Tax return preparation.
- Proficiency in financial report interpretation and preparation of financial statements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to clients.
This business has a 20 year history in the Mohawk Valley and is eager to find an individual who is capable of taking over the business in the short term. It is turn key and little investment would be required as a partner/owner of the business. Expansion of the business would be completed before the transition would be completed.
