Corporate Tax Specialist - Onsite, full-time, exempt position in Mer Rouge, Louisiana.
Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Corporate Tax Specialist to join our Finance team. This position plays a vital role in managing the company's tax compliance, planning, and reporting processes to ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Filing
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including ASC 740 analysis and related disclosures.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of estimated taxes and other tax obligations.
- Create quarterly projections on estimated income for shareholders.
- Tax Planning & Strategy
- Assist in developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax burden.
- Monitor and analyze the impact of tax law changes and suggest appropriate adjustments.
- Audit & Risk Management
- Coordinate responses to federal and state tax audits and inquiries.
- Maintain documentation and support files for audit readiness and compliance.
- Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with accounting, legal, and operations teams on various business initiatives to assess tax implications.
- Provide guidance on the tax impact of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
- Research & Reporting
- Conduct technical tax research and prepare position memos.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statement tax footnotes and internal reports
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree in Taxation (MST) is a plus.
- Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in corporate taxation, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department.
- Experience with tax software (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Ultra Tax and Fixed Assets, CCH), Quickbooks Enterprise, and ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax rules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax research tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
