Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparers to join our team. The ideal candidates would possess strong understanding of tax regulations and have the ability to assist clients in preparing their tax returns accurately and efficiently. This role requires excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing high-quality financial services.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ seasons of previous experience completing individual, trust, business and/or partnership tax returns.
- Energetic, detail-oriented individuals with superior organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proactive self-starters with demonstrated experience maintaining high-quality work in a fast-paced environment, within time constraints, and understanding the cycle of transactions.
- Individuals with keen attention to detail and accuracy, outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to interact and communicate with a broad range of people effectively, and the ability to establish a good rapport with clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses and fiduciaries.
- Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
- Provide clients with guidance on tax-related issues and strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.
- Utilize accounting software to ensure accurate data entry and calculations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist clients in gathering necessary documentation for tax preparation.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of client filings.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent math skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately.
- Experience in public accounting or financial sales is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with technical accounting practices is a plus.
- Strong 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial but Not Required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Knowledge and Experience in Drake Tax Software
- Knowledge and experience in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
