Van Allen LLC represents many of the most influential companies throughout the United States including dozens of S&P 500 companies and focuses on commercial and tax litigation. Our Attorneys work directly with Accountants to prepare important court documents and analyze cutting-edge tax issues. Accordingly, our firm currently has an opening for the position of Tax Consultant, with CPA license, to assist with the handling of various tax appeals nationally. However, no legal field experience is necessary. This position is for experienced applicants for full-time employment. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
Base salary is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year plus bonuses, medical / dental / vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation time, as well as other perks.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and execute high-value tax refund appeals
· Communicate directly with clients
· Review, analyze, and organize client documents and data
· Work together with Attorneys and staff to ensure viability and accuracy of appeals
· Document and prepare various detailed and summary spreadsheets
· Collaborate with co-workers to balance priorities and manage multiple open projects
· Conduct transaction payment reconciliations
Qualifications
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
· Strong understanding of sales and use taxes
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Advanced understanding of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
