Job Summary
Are you a Certified Managerial Accountant (or working towards that) and an Excel wizard? We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs associated with the company’s operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to effective forecasting and reporting processes. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and compliance with regulations, as well as proficiency in analysis and cost management.
Duties
- Utilize Excel and software to update product pricebooks and as well as manually update standard costs, ensuring entries are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare and analyze detailed cost and financial reports to identify trends and variances.
- Prepare and file quarterly sales tax
- Ensure compliance with regulations through accurate financial reporting.
- Backup accounting functions.
- Review labor, input timecard data
- Assist in building financial understanding by providing insights on cost drivers and forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for financial report writing. Make recommendations to improve the costing and sales process.
- Monitor and control costs associated with various projects to enhance profitability.
Experience
- Certification in Accounting (such as a CMA) or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics or a related business field.
- Proven experience in cost management or corporate accounting roles.
- Payroll experience is a plus
- Experience with accounts payable or inventory functions is a plus.
- Experience with Construction costing is an advantage
- Knowledge of sales tax and prevailing wage compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and working with large datasets is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
