If you answered yes to these questions, the Division of Finance & Administration (DFA) invites you to apply for the position of DHHS Accountant. This position will serve as the main fiscal officer supporting the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) and may support other areas within the DHHS.

Responsibilities - Serve as a key fiscal leader, working collaboratively with fiscal and program staff to provide comprehensive fiscal support to the DSPD, or other divisions, which involves significant budgetary responsibilities including managing multiple critical financial functions, including financial processing, forecasting, reporting, and budget coordination.
- Collaborate closely with division and program leaders and other stakeholders, offering clear financial direction and strategic guidance, thorough analysis, and effective coordination across a wide variety of funding sources.
- Lead, mentor, and guide subordinate personnel in their performance, coordination, and understanding of departmental budgetary, fiscal, and financial procedures. This includes responsibilities for hiring, performance management, and addressing performance issues.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the fiscal operations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of and ensure proper performance related to federal revenue management, budgetary compliance, revenue agreements, and other relevant financial and budgetary expectations.
- Collaborate with department and division staff to gather financial data and ensure the accuracy of legislative requests, and fiscal note submissions.
Qualifications - Experience with managing a variety of government funding sources.
- Experience managing multiple projects and requests simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience in financial forecasting and analyzing large datasets related to funding allocation and financial performance.
Preferred Qualification:- Demonstrated ability to provide financial leadership and work effectively within a complex organizational structure.
- Proven ability to lead and manage staff effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant financial software and systems.
- Experience in working with internal auditors, state auditors, and federal auditors.
- Educational background in accounting.
