Key Responsibilities
Manage monthly close: journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations across GL and job cost accounts
Oversee WIP accounting and POC revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and consistency with GAAP
Perform cost-to-complete analysis across multiple active construction projects
Maintain detailed job cost tracking and support PMs in reviewing budget vs. actuals
Prepare division-level financial statements, dashboards, and internal management reports
Track subcontractor documentation, insurance, and compliance for billing accuracy
Liaise with external CPAs for audits, tax filings, and annual reviews
Strengthen internal controls, support process automation, and build scalable accounting systems
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience, minimum 3 years in civil construction or paving
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Mastery of percentage-of-completion accounting and job costing principles
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; experience with construction ERP a plus (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation)
Detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize data into actionable financial insights
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with PMs, estimators, and executives
Must be able to work on-site 5 days a week in Artesia

Experience supporting union payroll or prevailing wage tracking
Previous exposure to infrastructure, asphalt, or public works contracts
CPA, CMA, or construction-specific financial certifications are a plus
