Position Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced, driven Tax Preparer who is ready for a long-term home with a team that values growth, autonomy, and impact. This is more than a seasonal role—we’re offering a full-time, year-round opportunity with a clear growth path to become Tax Director, overseeing a team of preparers and leading client advisory efforts.
This role is fully remote and ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about building meaningful client relationships while delivering top-tier tax work and strategic advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, etc.)
- Engage directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer tax-related questions
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and proactively offer advisory insights to clients
- Support and eventually lead tax planning and strategy discussions
- Contribute to developing and improving internal tax processes and systems
- Collaborate with other departments (accounting, payroll, advisory) to ensure clients receive comprehensive service
- Mentor junior tax staff as the team grows
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience preparing a variety of tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes for individuals and small businesses
- CPA or EA preferred (or actively pursuing)
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written
- Comfortable using modern cloud-based tax and workflow systems (Ultra Tax)
- Client-first mindset with a desire to offer more than just compliance work
- Leadership potential and desire to grow into a management role
