We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and financial concepts, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in accounting software, as well as the ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Duties
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents to identify potential deductions and credits.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide clients with guidance on tax strategies and financial planning.
- Assist in resolving any tax-related issues or inquiries from clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate filings.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance client service.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks as needed, including maintaining ledgers and reconciling accounts.
- Utilize strong math skills for calculations related to tax preparation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and technical accounting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and financial software applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience in financial sales or marketing is a plus.
- A background in corporate accounting or bookkeeping is desirable.
