Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and tax preparation, with the ability to analyze financial data and provide exceptional customer service. This role involves preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing clients with expert advice on financial matters.
Duties
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
- Analyze financial data to identify potential deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to manage client accounts and maintain accurate records.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining tax concepts, and offering guidance on financial planning.
- Conduct thorough reviews of clients’ financial documents to ensure all information is complete and accurate.
- Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in marketing efforts to attract new clients through networking and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) as well as financial software tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong math skills for accurate calculations related to taxes and finances.
- Experience in bookkeeping or corporate accounting is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
