Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of various accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and payroll processing to ensure timely payments.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights on financial performance.
- Prepare financial reports for management review, highlighting key metrics and variances.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, and other financial software to streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation when necessary.
- Support governmental accounting initiatives as required by specific projects or clients.
- Analyze accounts for discrepancies and provide solutions for improvement.
Skills
- Proficient in QuickBooks accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting, public accounting, and governmental accounting principles.
- Expertise in double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account analysis, and technical accounting concepts.
- Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Ability to write clear financial reports and communicate complex financial concepts effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficient in 10 key typing for data entry tasks.
