Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Tax Preparer to join our team. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and/or small businesses. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of tax laws, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and/or businesses.
Review financial records such as income statements, expenses, and other documents to ensure proper tax reporting.
Advise clients on tax-saving strategies, deductions, and credits.
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and current tax laws.
Address client questions regarding tax issues, notices, and audits.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and industry best practices.
Meet deadlines and manage multiple client accounts during tax season.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in tax preparation preferred (training may be provided for entry-level candidates).
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a simple, professional manner.
Comfortable working with tax software, spreadsheets, and accounting systems.
High school diploma or equivalent (additional coursework in accounting, finance, or business preferred).
PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) required or ability to obtain.
