As the Tax Accountant Manager, you will be responsible for various vital areas. Your role will encompass the preparation of monthly and yearly tax and sales tax returns, ensuring their accuracy and timely submission. Implementing tax benefits and promptly addressing any tax-related inquiries from team members will also fall within your purview.
Maintaining a proactive approach is paramount, and you will be expected to remain well-informed about the latest tax updates and changes. Moreover, you can propose system improvements to enhance tax-related processes and guarantee strict compliance with relevant regulations. Your leadership and expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the company's tax-related matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain meticulous tax information in the system, ensuring accurate journal entries for all taxes incurred and paid by the company. Define and register necessary adjustments with precision.• Prepare timely monthly tax status reports, essential for auditing purposes.• Demonstrate unwavering vigilance in ensuring compliance with regulatory changes across all US states where Rotoplas operates.• Oversee the reception and distribution of W-2 forms to all employees promptly.• Develop and deliver effective tax strategies that contribute to achieving financial goals.• Routinely propose improvements to elevate foreign trade practices and prepare comprehensive reports as required.• Conduct meticulous reconciliation of figures between the system and tax accrual/payments.• Adhere strictly to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, facilitating accurate tax filings.• Provide technical support and expert advice in reviewing accounting and taxation practices, recommending necessary system adjustments in line with governmental procedures.• Undertake various accounting tasks, including check preparation, budget creation, billing statement calculations, tax form preparation, document coding, financial record compilation, and proficient management of cyclical and year-end inventory processes.• Accurately submit information in the SAP system, monitoring cost analysis, fiscal requirements, and report preparation to ensure effective management.• Serve as the primary point of contact with various stakeholders, including local banks for specific purposes like bank deposits, CPA office for verification of information for quarterly and yearly filings, payroll vendors to ensure compliance with payroll policies, and the Board of Equalization for timely reporting.• Provide precise and prompt tax cash forecasts, critical for financial planning.• Ensure comprehensive tax compliance for inventory destruction and leverage tax, offering valuable support during inventory activities.• Facilitate smooth financial local and corporate audits by promptly responding to audit requirements.• Conduct meticulous tax account analysis reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.• Collaborate effectively with the IC team on tax compliance and Transfer Pricing (TP) regulations to support Intercompany (IC) transactions.• Act as the legal representative before authorities, demonstrating professionalism and expertise.• Identify and actively support tax automation projects, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required, and an MBA is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Accounting and Taxation.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess tax risks and provide strategic advice.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and systems, including SAP.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining tax records.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated ability to propose and implement improvements to tax processes.
- Proactive mindset to stay updated with tax updates and propose system enhancements.
- Familiarity with foreign trade practices and intercompany transactions is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required.
- Expected travel percentage is 20% or less.
- Successful completion of a drug test and background check is a prerequisite.
